  • Matthew Young

    President & CEO

    Matt is the CEO and founder of Trashology, drawing on his years of experience as a chemical engineer and program manager for a variety of waste-to-energy development programs with the DoD to lead the Trashology team. Matt is passionate about reducing the impact that waste has on our world, and leads Trashology’s vision of a less wasteful future.

  • Stephen Armstrong

    Executive VP, Director of Product Integration

    Stephen is the Executive Vice President and Director of Product Integration at Trashology. He is responsible for taking the ideas generated by the engineers and making them come to life. Stephen has a unique ability to conceptualize engineering designs into functional systems, and has been developing the Pur-Gen™ technology since its initial conception in 2008. His vast experience in on-site waste-to-energy design makes him a valuable leader and asset at Trashology.

  • Jason Farias

    Principal Mechanical Engineer

    Jason is a principal mechanical engineer with a focus on design of experiments, statistical analysis, and theoretical modeling, and has a diverse understanding of mechanical, fluid, and thermal theory. At Trashology, Jason leads the development and analysis of research and product testing in support of the Pur-Gen™ development.

  • Ryan Thompson-Fiege

    Program Manager / Senior ME

    Ryan is a senior mechanical engineer and program manager with experience in new product development, rapid prototyping, and business development. At Trashology, Ryan contributes not only to the engineering development of the Pur-Gen™ technology, but also acts as a program manager in support of Trashology's government contracts.

  • William Wang

    Senior Chemical Engineer

    William is a senior chemical engineer with experience in process development, modeling, and economics, and has years of experience in the development of cyclic redox processes for carbon capture and the conversion of coal, natural gas, biomass, and plastics to heat/electricity, syngas, and chemicals such as ethylene and hydrogen. At Trashology, William is responsible for process development of Trashology’s Pur-Gen™ system and oversees the analytical laboratory.

  • Chuck Simmons

    Controls Engineer

    Chuck is a controls engineer who brings years of experience in electrical and controls systems engineering. At Trashology, Chuck plays a critical role in the development of robust automation and controls for all aspects of the Pur-Gen™ technology, and his work is integral to the evolution of Trashology’s systems and products.

    HR Manager

    Channy is a Human Resources Manager at Trashology. She plans, coordinates and directs the administrative functions of the organization. She consults with top executives on strategic planning and serves as a link between the organization's management and the employees.
